TuringQ (图灵量子) is a Shanghai-based photonic quantum computing company founded in 2021 as a spinout from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It builds integrated photonic quantum chips. In early 2026 it raised a Series B of about 600M yuan, taking total funding above 1 billion yuan, roughly $140M, at a valuation near 7 billion yuan. The company develops continuous-variable quantum computing chips using silicon photonics fabrication and targets near-term applications in quantum simulation and machine learning. As one of China's leading photonic quantum hardware startups, it has received backing from Shanghai municipal government funds and private investors.

CAS Cold Atom is a Wuhan-based quantum computing company founded in 2020. It develops neutral atom quantum computers based on technology from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Its focus is scalable neutral atom quantum processors that use optical tweezers and laser cooling to trap and manipulate individual atoms as qubits. In quantum communications, USTC's milestones include the Micius quantum satellite in 2016, which demonstrated satellite-based quantum key distribution and quantum entanglement over 1,200 km, the quantum internet backbone connecting Beijing and Shanghai in 2022, and ground-station quantum teleportation experiments. In quantum computing, USTC achieved Jiuzhang photonic quantum advantage in 2020 and again in 2021 with Jiuzhang 2.0 and 3.0, and demonstrated Zuchongzhi superconducting quantum processors with 56-qubit and 66-qubit systems showing quantum computational advantage over classical simulation. In December 2024, USTC released Zuchongzhi 3.0, a 105-qubit superconducting processor rivaling Google's Willow chip and demonstrating quantum computational advantage. China Telecom Quantum Group is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Telecom, headquartered in Hefei. In January 2025 it became the controlling shareholder of QuantumCTek, China's leading QKD company. China Telecom has committed more than CNY 10 billion of investment across its quantum programs.

The group operates the Tianyan quantum computing cloud platform, which had recorded more than 12 million user visits from over 50 countries by mid-2025. In October 2025 it deployed access to the 105-qubit Zuchongzhi-3 on the Tianyan platform. In December 2024 it co-developed the Tianyan-504, a 504-qubit superconducting quantum computer, with CAS and QuantumCTek.

QuantumCTek (SSE STAR: 688027) is China's leading quantum communications company and the only organization delivering both QKD hardware and domestically produced post-quantum cryptography silicon. It is based in Hefei, China and listed on the SSE STAR Market. QuantumCTek built the 2,000km Beijing-Shanghai quantum backbone network and has deployed QKD infrastructure for China's banking, government, and military sectors.

In November 2025, QuantumCTek released China's first high-performance post-quantum cryptography chip. In May 2025, QuantumCTek and China Telecom Quantum launched the first commercial QKD+PQC hybrid security system, combining quantum key distribution with PQC algorithms in a single deployed product that delivers quantum-encrypted keys via SIM cards to more than 5 million users, aimed at government and financial sector clients. QuantumCTek also demonstrated a 1,000km quantum-encrypted voice call over China's national quantum backbone network.

In 2025 and 2026, QuantumCTek released the ez-Q Engine 2.0, a superconducting quantum measurement and control system supporting more than 1,000 qubits at less than half the cost of comparable foreign technology, with a 10x integration improvement over its predecessor. It was validated on both the 504-qubit Tianyan-504 and the 105-qubit Zuchongzhi 3.0, with plans to scale to more than 5,000 qubits and a next-generation system capable of 10,000 qubits with error correction. The company also commercialized its domestically developed EZ-Q Fridge dilution refrigerator for mass production, reducing reliance on imported cryogenic equipment.

CIQTEK (中科牛津) is a Chinese quantum sensing and diamond NV quantum technology company founded in 2019 by researchers from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and the University of Oxford. Based in Hefei, China, it manufactures and commercializes quantum sensing instruments, including diamond NV magnetometers, NMR relaxometers, and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrometers for scientific, industrial, and biomedical use. The company produces commercially available desktop diamond NV sensors and has shipped instruments to more than 100 research institutions worldwide.

CIQTEK completed a pre-IPO Series D in October 2025 and received STAR Market IPO approval in December 2025, with an implied valuation of roughly CNY 11.7 billion (about $1.6B). In May 2026, Jiuzhang Quantum published Jiuzhang 4.0 in Nature, a programmable photonic processor that generates 1,024 squeezed states across 8,176 optical modes, detects up to 3,050 photons, and completes photon sampling tasks in 25.6 microseconds. Classically simulating an equivalent computation on EI Capitan, the world's most powerful classical supercomputer, would take an estimated 10^42 years. The result stands as one of the strongest quantum advantage demonstrations to date.

Jiuzhang Quantum Technology

Liangyi Wanxiang (两仪万象), which uses the English brand name Atom to Infinity, is a Beijing-based quantum computing company founded in July 2024. It was incubated from Tsinghua University's atomic quantum computing team and works alongside the university's Institute for Advanced Study and Department of Physics, with theory, experiment, and commercialization split across the three groups.

The company builds neutral atom quantum computers, an approach that uses individual atoms held in light as physical qubits. Its core technology includes an optical metasurface that can generate tens of thousands of optical tweezers, a domestically developed compact atom source, and a dynamic rearrangement technique that produces defect-free programmable atomic arrays of several hundred qubits. The company is pursuing a vertically integrated strategy spanning core components, control systems, the quantum computer itself, and a planned cloud platform, and it has scheduled its first-generation machine for spring 2027.

In April 2026 the company announced a Series A round at the hundred-million-RMB level, equivalent to roughly 14 million dollars, co-led by the Beijing Information Industry Development Investment Fund and Shunwei Capital, with iFlytek, Junlian Capital, and Yizhuang State-owned Investment also taking part. Taiyi Quantum, registered as Taiyi Quantum Life (Shanghai) Quantum Technology Co., Ltd. (太一量生（上海）量子科技有限公司), is a neutral-atom quantum computing company founded in January 2026 and based in the Xuhui District of Shanghai. Within two months of its founding it raised one of the largest early-stage rounds in China's neutral-atom sector.

The company was started by Liu Hongbin, who serves as chairman and chief technology officer. Liu has more than twelve years of quantum computing experience and was previously the chief quantum architect at Microsoft, where he led work on the neutral-atom strategy and the collaboration with Atom Computing. The chief executive is Fang Zhenghao, a former managing partner with close to fifteen years investing in frontier technology. Taiyi has chosen ytterbium atoms for its qubits, a decision Liu describes as trading engineering difficulty for scientific advantage, since ytterbium offers faster gate operations, erasable errors, and a path to photonic interconnection in the telecom band.

In March 2026 Taiyi announced an angel round of over 100 million yuan, roughly 15 million dollars, co-led by the Shanghai Future Industry Fund and iFlytek Venture Capital. Other backers include JinkoSolar Holdings, Galaxy General, Yabang Chemical, and Houxue Capital. The company says the money will go toward research and development, growing its team, and constructing its first quantum computer.

In July 2025 the listed laser-systems firm JPT (杰普特, Shanghai STAR Market ticker 688025) acquired a controlling stake, and by September 2025 its fiber-array products were shipping in volume to leading domestic optical-module makers.

A figure of 29 million dollars circulated on a 2026 quantum-startup funding list, but that round could not be verified and the company's core business is data-center and telecom optics rather than quantum hardware.
