About
Origin Quantum is China's leading quantum computing hardware company and the first to deliver a commercial quantum computer built entirely with domestic supply chains. Founded in 2017 in Hefei as a USTC spinout, it is China's largest independently operated superconducting quantum computer company. Origin Quantum has raised more than $800M from state funds and strategic investors and ranks 6th globally by quantum computing patent portfolio. The company's most advanced platform is Origin Wukong-180, a fourth-generation superconducting system launched in Hefei in May 2026 with 180 computational qubits and 99% two-qubit gate fidelity, with global cloud access via the Origin Pilot cloud. It succeeds the third-generation Wukong-72. It delivered a 24-qubit system to a domestic customer in 2020 and has received major backing from Shenzhen Capital and the Anhui provincial government. Origin Quantum is pursuing an IPO on China's STAR Market at an implied valuation of about CNY 6.9 billion, roughly $950M, having raised $294M in total, including a $148M Series B from the Anhui provincial government and CAS. In May 2025, Origin Quantum launched Tianji 4.0, a measurement and control system supporting more than 500 qubits that reduces specialized PhD-level setup work to standard engineering workflows, enabling mass-production-grade quantum systems. In February 2026, the company open-sourced its Origin Pilot quantum operating system. The Origin Wukong cloud platform surpassed 20 million visits from 145 countries in its first year, with more than 530,000 completed quantum computing jobs.
