About
QustomDot is a Ghent University spinoff, established in January 2020, that develops cadmium-free quantum dot inks and resins for microLED displays, converting blue LED light into red and green. Its technology produces high-quality quantum dots with precise control over optical properties, useful for quantum light sources, single-photon emitters, and next-generation displays. In November 2024 the company secured a €2.7M financing round from PMV, the Flemish investment body, along with QBIC, Vigo Ventures, Noshaq, and the EIC Fund. In total it has raised $9.2M, made up of €4.8M in venture capital and €5.2M in grants, the latter including a €2.5M EIC Accelerator grant with access to a €3.5M equity facility. Across 2024 and 2025, QustomDot began product sampling with top microLED manufacturers in Taiwan and established five active industry partnerships, with plans to engage advanced display manufacturers worldwide in 2025. The microLED display market is projected to reach $27B by 2027.
