About

QuiX Quantum is a Dutch photonic quantum computing company based in Enschede, Netherlands. It builds the world's largest commercially available photonic quantum processors, based on silicon nitride integrated photonics. The company was founded in 2019 out of the University of Twente. QuiX has raised more than 20 million euros. Its 20-mode photonic processor is available via cloud access and on-premises, with a 50-mode system in development. Its passive linear optical network supports sampling and optimization algorithms. Partners include TNO, Thales, and European research institutions, and QuiX is named in the EU Chips Act P4Q photonic pilot line under Quantum Delta NL. In July 2025, QuiX raised 15 million euros in Series A funding led by Invest-NL and the EIC Fund, with co-investors PhotonVentures, Oost NL, and FORWARD.one. The round targets the world's first single-photon universal quantum computer by 2026, with a projected 64x increase in processing power over existing photonic processors and an error-correction system planned for 2027. QuiX also holds a EUR 14M contract with the German Aerospace Center to deliver a 64-qubit universal photonic quantum computer, and in April 2026 it reported the first demonstration of below-threshold error mitigation on a photonic processor. In June 2026, QuiX Quantum installed its Feed-Forward Control Unit, enabling real-time responses to quantum measurements in photonic quantum processors. Update 2026-06-13: QuiX Quantum established a new office in Stuttgart at ARENA2036.
