About
YiyaniQ is a Toronto-based quantum technology company founded in 2021 that works at the intersection of AI, quantum computing, and finance. As the first spin-out from the Vector Institute, it gives financial institutions fast and accurate algorithms for pricing complex derivatives and optimizing portfolios of financial assets. The company applies neural networks to derivative pricing, one of finance's hardest computational problems, to make those calculations both faster and more accurate. YiyaniQ was co-founded by Vector Institute postgraduate affiliate Estelle Inack, who serves as CTO, and Behnam Javanparast, who serves as CEO. The company name comes from Basa'a, a language from Inack's native Cameroon, where 'yi' means intelligence and 'yaani' means tomorrow, with 'Q' standing for quantum. The founding research was published in Nature Machine Intelligence.
