About
Strangeworks is a US quantum computing software company building QC Ware Studio, a platform that aggregates cloud access to multiple quantum hardware providers, including IBM, Google, Rigetti, IonQ, and D-Wave, under a single interface. Founded in 2018 and backed by IBM, the company has raised more than $30M and serves enterprise and developer customers that want to build quantum applications without hardware vendor lock-in. The platform includes quantum algorithm libraries, circuit optimization, and hybrid quantum-classical workflow management. Based in Austin, Texas, Strangeworks partnered with Quantinuum on a cryptographic key service that uses quantum computers, and integrated Infleqtion's Hilbert platform into its multi-vendor quantum access service. In August 2025, Strangeworks acquired the German optimization company Quantagonia to expand into applied AI and optimization, and in November 2025 it signed a memorandum of understanding with Tech Mahindra to deliver quantum and quantum-inspired optimization across finance, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and energy. The company also expanded operations into India and Sri Lanka in 2025.
