About
Quantonation is the first early-stage venture capital fund dedicated to the quantum technology ecosystem, founded in 2018 in Paris by Charles Beigbeder and Christophe Jurczak. It invests globally in deep technologies based on advances in physics and computing across four areas: quantum computing hardware and software, quantum networks, quantum sensing, and deep physics. Quantonation is headquartered in Paris, France and Boston, USA, with investments in Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific. It uses scientific expertise to guide its investments and supports early-stage startups turning quantum research into commercial applications. Quantonation I, a 2021 vintage fund, raised EUR 91 million beyond its original target and made investments in 27 companies worldwide. In April 2024, Quantonation announced the first closing of Quantonation II at EUR 70 million toward a EUR 200 million target, and the European Investment Fund committed EUR 30 million to Quantonation II in 2025. Throughout 2025, Quantonation continued active investment in quantum technology companies, with portfolio companies showing progress in technology development and commercialization. In February 2026, Quantonation closed Fund II at EUR 220M, roughly $260M, becoming the largest dedicated quantum technology investment firm globally. Fund II is already deployed into 12 companies, with a target portfolio of about 25 companies.
