About

Photonic Inc is a Canadian quantum networking and computing company based in Vancouver that builds silicon spin-photon quantum processors. Its T-Center silicon spin-photon interface links spin qubits to photons for long-distance entanglement distribution, with the aim of supporting fault-tolerant distributed quantum computing. The company has raised more than CA$475M in total. Its most recent round closed in May 2026 at CA$275M, more than $200M USD, at a $2B USD post-money valuation. The January 2026 first close of CA$180M was led by Planet First Partners alongside RBC, TELUS, BCI, and Microsoft, and the May final close added BDC, EDC, Bell Ventures, Firgun Ventures, InBC Investment Corp, and Mubadala Capital. Photonic achieved the world's first quantum teleportation over 30km of commercial metro fiber, in partnership with TELUS, and integrates with Microsoft Azure Quantum for quantum networking. It advanced to DARPA QBI Stage B in November 2025. In 2025 the company received CA$23M from Canada's Quantum Champions Program (CQCP), part of the CA$334.3M Budget 2025 quantum commitment. In early 2026, Photonic appointed Don Mattrick as CEO and Paul Terry as Chief Product Officer. The company also committed £25M to a new UK quantum R&D facility, creating more than 30 jobs.
