ParityQC is an Austrian quantum computing architecture company that designs hardware-efficient quantum optimization algorithms using its ParityOS operating system and parity-encoded quantum circuits. It was founded in 2020 in Innsbruck by Wolfgang Lechner and Magdalena Hauser. The company targets combinatorial optimization problems in automotive, logistics, and energy, and it licenses its architecture to hardware providers globally. ParityQC partners with Quantum Brilliance on Germany's Cyberagency EUR 35M portable quantum programme, develops algorithms for QUDORA's trapped-ion systems, and takes part in the DLR QCMobility project for mobility sector quantum applications. The company holds a €208.5M contract with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and consortium partners to build ion trap quantum computers in Germany, one of Europe's largest quantum computing investments. It is also part of the ATIQ consortium with eleQtron, funded with €37.4M from the German government. In May 2026, ParityQC and IBM ran a 52-qubit quantum Fourier transform on an IBM Heron processor with reduced error rates, nearly doubling the prior benchmark of 28 qubits.
