NY CREATES, the New York Center for Research, Economic Advancement, Technology, Engineering, and Science, is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 that owns and operates the Albany NanoTech Complex, the nation's most advanced publicly owned semiconductor R&D facility. In 2024, Albany NanoTech was designated as the first National Semiconductor Technology Center research and development site. NY CREATES develops superconducting quantum computing with Bleximo's Rubicon platform for multi-qubit quantum processor testing, carrying out R&D into scalable quantum computing systems with Ta-based Josephson junctions, high-quality-factor coplanar waveguide resonators, and superconducting nanowires at 300mm wafer scale. It has partnered with PsiQuantum to advance integrated photonics for quantum computing and with Nord Quantique on CMOS-based qubit fabrication using semiconductor tools. NY CREATES serves quantum computing manufacturers that need advanced semiconductor fabrication capabilities for superconducting and photonic quantum processors.
