About
Nu Quantum is a UK quantum networking company founded in 2018 out of Cambridge University and based in Cambridge. It builds datacenter-compatible quantum networking infrastructure. Its core product is the Entanglement Fabric, a modular photonic layer that interconnects quantum processors for distributed quantum computing. Its Quantum Networking Unit (QNU) delivers 99.7% entanglement fidelity with 300ns control latency, enabling quantum links between QPUs in data centers. In February 2026, Nu Quantum opened Europe's first industrial trapped-ion quantum networking laboratory in Cambridge, targeting large-scale quantum repeater and network hardware. It co-founded the Quantum Datacenter Alliance with Cisco, NTT DATA, OQC, QphoX, Quantinuum, and QuEra. In December 2025, Nu Quantum raised $60M, the largest UK early-stage quantum round ever. It also closed a $75M Series C led by Planet First Partners, with Cambridge Innovation Capital, Amadeus Capital Partners, and the UK National Security Strategic Investment Fund (NSSIF). Update 2026-06-11: Nu Quantum's research demonstrated that multi-QPU systems can tolerate complete QPU failure by encoding information across a network.
