The National Quantum Commercialisation Skills Centre is a GBP 12 million UKRI-funded programme established as part of the UK Government's GBP 2B 'Quantum Leap' programme announced on March 17, 2026. It works to bridge the gap between laboratory quantum research and commercial applications, training both current quantum sector professionals and the next generation of quantum talent. The Centre addresses the workforce gap identified in the UK National Quantum Strategy, where commercialization is held back by a shortage of professionals who can turn fundamental quantum research into viable products and services. It works across the full quantum ecosystem, including hardware, software, sensing, and communications, to build commercialization skills in areas such as quantum business development, IP management, technology transfer, and quantum product management. Announced as part of UKRI's wider quantum investment package, its funding is available from April 2026 through the UKRI funding finder.
