About

Haiqu is a US-Ukrainian quantum software startup founded in September 2022 in Palo Alto by Richard Givhan and Mykola Maksymenko. It develops middleware that improves the performance of noisy near-term quantum processors, with technology that enables the execution of quantum circuits up to 100 times deeper by improving transpilation and resilience to noise and errors. Haiqu is hardware-agnostic, supporting IBM and other quantum backends, and serves quantum hardware providers and researchers who need quantum error mitigation for NISQ-era machines. The company operates with a distributed team across the United States, Ukraine, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, and the UK. In 2023, Haiqu secured $4 million in pre-seed funding to support product development and build a partner ecosystem for market launch, with investors including Toyota Ventures and u.ventures. In 2024, it raised an additional $1.6 million for the Compilation Open Design (CODE) project, advancing Canadian innovation through open-source quantum computing access. In January 2026, Haiqu raised an $11 million seed round led by Primary Venture Partners to launch its hardware-aware quantum operating system, which is designed to reduce quantum computational cost 100x versus existing solutions. Early applications in anomaly detection were validated by IBM and the Bank of Montreal. Total funding stands at roughly $17M.
