G42 (Group 42 Holding Ltd) is an Abu Dhabi-based artificial intelligence holding company founded in 2018 and chaired by Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE ruling family. It develops AI across government, healthcare, finance, oil and gas, aviation, and hospitality, with partnerships now extending into quantum computing. G42 has formed quantum partnerships with Microsoft, which invested 1.5 billion dollars in April 2024, with IonQ for quantum computing access at Abu Dhabi's Quantum Research Center, and with D-Wave, and it has explored quantum potential through its subsidiary the Inception Institute of Artificial Intelligence. In May 2025, G42 announced the Stargate UAE partnership with OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, SoftBank, and Cisco to build a 5GW AI campus in Abu Dhabi. Backed by investors including Mubadala, SilverLake, Microsoft, and the Dalio Family Office, G42 is helping position the UAE as a quantum and AI technology hub.
