About

Fujitsu is a Japanese global technology company building both quantum annealing systems, marketed as the Digital Annealer, and superconducting gate-model quantum computers. In partnership with RIKEN, Fujitsu operates a 256-qubit superconducting quantum computer at the RIKEN RQC-Fujitsu Collaboration Center, unveiled in April 2025 as a 4x upgrade from the previous 64-qubit system. A 1,000-qubit system is planned for 2026, with more than 10,000 qubits targeted by 2030. Fujitsu took part in the launch of the University of Osaka's domestically produced quantum computer in July 2025, and it offers cloud access to quantum simulators and hybrid quantum-classical computing through Fujitsu Quantum Computing as a Service. In May 2025, Fujitsu deployed its Digital Annealer technology with Toyota Systems for automotive connector design, achieving 20x acceleration over conventional methods while running on mass-produced ECUs.
