The European Commission has launched the Quantum Computing Advisory Board (Q-CAB) to provide independent, platform-agnostic expertise on the state of quantum computing in Europe. Chaired by Professor Peter Zoller and coordinated alongside Tommaso Calarco, the board features a “who’s who” of European quantum science, including: Prof. David DiVincenzo (Forschungszentrum Jülich) Dr. Michael Bolle (Carl Zeiss Stiftung) Prof. Sabrina Maniscalco (University of Helsinki) Prof. Nikolay V. Vitanov (Sofia University) Prof. Ignacio Cirac (Max Planck Institute) Mr. Olivier Ezratty (Quantum Energy Initiative) Q-CAB will advise on the industrialization of the quantum value chain and help define investment and procurement roadmaps as the field moves toward fault-tolerant systems. Q.ANT has announced its expansion into the United States with the opening of a new headquarters in Austin, Texas, and the appointment of semiconductor veteran Bruno Spruth as Chief Technology Officer. Spruth joins the photonic computing pioneer from IBM, where he most recently served as Vice President of Power Processor Development, leading global strategy for one of the world’s most advanced high-performance computing architectures. In his new role, Spruth will oversee Q.ANT’s technological strategy and product development in North America as the company seeks to scale its energy-efficient photonic processors within the U.S. hyperscale and AI markets. Dontamsetti is a recognized authority in global financial risk, having previously served as the Chief Technology Risk Officer (CTO) at State Street, where he managed risk for over $46 trillion in assets. Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park (IQMP) has announced the appointment of Oscar Bedolla as its new Chief Strategy Officer. Bedolla joins the 128-acre South Chicago development from Amazon International Corporate Finance, where he served as Head of Insights, Performance, Analytics, and Technology. With over 20 years of experience in economic development and strategic planning—including previous leadership roles at KPMG and the City of Cincinnati—Bedolla will oversee the alignment of public and private stakeholders to drive the industrial-scale growth of the Park.
