IonQ has expanded its senior leadership team with the appointment of James L. Hayes as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Government Affairs. Hayes brings over 25 years of experience in public policy and the private sector, most recently serving as Senior Vice President at Tenable. His previous roles include Vice President of Government Affairs at Dell EMC and a decade of service in the U.S. Senate on the Committee on Appropriations. Photonic Inc. has announced a significant evolution of its leadership structure to accelerate commercialization and sharpen its go-to-market strategy. Founding investor and board member Don Mattrick has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Mattrick, formerly CEO of Zynga and President at Microsoft, will focus on scaling global operations. Simultaneously, Paul Terry transitions to the role of Chief Product Officer, where he will lead product strategy and the delivery of Photonic’s commercial offerings, leveraging the company’s “Entanglement First™” architecture. A veteran of the Australian Army and former Director of Business Development at L3Harris Technologies, O’Brien brings extensive experience in defense program acquisition and systems engineering. He will lead Infleqtion’s Australian operations as the company—now publicly listed on the NYSE—accelerates the delivery of quantum sensing and computing capabilities for defense and commercial sectors. Moulds previously served as the General Manager of Quantum Computing at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he led the launch of Amazon Braket. Hays, currently VP of Public Sector at Cornelis Networks, previously served as CEO of Atom Computing.
