Who’s News: Strategic Appointments at Horizon Quantum, Quantum Computing Inc., and Uviquity Horizon Quantum has appointed Amanda Chew as Chief Product Officer (CPO), effective August 17, 2026. Chew joined the company in 2020 as Product Manager and subsequently held the positions of Director of Product and Vice President of Product. Prior to Horizon Quantum, she held management roles at Microsoft. In her new capacity, Chew will manage Horizon Quantum’s product development and software infrastructure strategies.

Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) has promoted Mark Batzdorf to Senior Vice President, Finance. Batzdorf joined QCi following its acquisition of Luminar Semiconductor and has since managed finance operations for the company’s photonics unit. In his expanded role, he will manage QCi’s broader financial framework and growth planning. Uviquity has appointed Dr. Vincent D. (“Chuck”) Mattera, Jr. as a Strategic Advisor. Dr. Mattera is the Founder and CEO of Avalanche Thinking and formerly served as Chair and CEO of Coherent Corp. In his advisory role, he will guide Uviquity’s executive team as the company commercializes its integrated aluminum nitride (AlN) photonics platform for quantum computing, sensing, and ultraviolet applications.
