The campus is intended to place a working quantum system, fabrication resources, and commercializing companies on one property to support commercialization in quantum technologies spanning sensing, networking, and timing.Occam Foundry is structured so that university teams, startups, and a working quantum system operate steps from resources that support the development and fabrication of quantum hardware.The first phase occupies part of the 16.5-acre site with room for expansion, linking buildings via a shaded central walkway around a courtyard and reflecting pool. Longer-term plans entail materials and process work, prototyping, and characterization so that designs can progress from concept to working system on the same campus.The site sits in an advanced-manufacturing corridor approximately 15 minutes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and 25 minutes from downtown Austin.The project aligns with the Texas Quantum Initiative, established under House Bill 4751 to advance Texas’s position in the quantum industry and accelerate the integration of quantum computing, networking, and sensing technologies into the state’s economy.

State Representative Giovanni Capriglione, author of the bill, stated support for the investment into the quantum supply chain.Samara, which owns and operates approximately 17 million square feet of land in Texas and serves more than 8,500 tenants according to the announcement, brings long-term development capacity.Jesse Levine, CEO of Samara, emphasized building places where industries put down roots next to existing advanced manufacturing.
