Qunova Appoints CFO and Two Business Development Executives

Insider BriefPress release – Qunova Computing, a maker of quantum software applications designed for the chemical, pharmaceutical and materials science industries, today announces the appointments of Jake Hwang as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Board Member, as well as Evan Kang and Woomin Kyoung as Business Development Executives.

The team will take on a range of responsibilities including global strategic partnerships, enterprise market expansion, and capital markets initiatives. “As the commercialization of quantum computing approaches a critical inflection point, it is essential that Qunova strengthen its leadership in key areas including finance, corporate strategy, and business development,” said June-Koo Kevin Rhee, Founder and CEO of Qunova Computing. “Jake brings extensive experience leading IPOs, M&A transactions, investor relations, and corporate growth. Combined with Evan’s deep network in life sciences and advanced materials, and Woomin’s decades of industrial simulation expertise, these appointments significantly enhance our ability to deliver Industrial Quantum Advantage to customers worldwide.” Mr. Hwang most recently served as Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Business Officer at Nearthlab, where he played a key role in the company’s growth and IPO preparation. Prior to that, he served as Head of Investor Relations and Business Development at Synergy Quantum in the United Kingdom, helping build strategic partnerships within the global quantum ecosystem. He has also worked as Senior Investment Manager at Hanwha Asset Management, where he led growth investments and portfolio management activities, including Nasdaq-related investments and M&A exits. “Quantum computing is entering a new stage where technical leadership must be matched by financial scale, strategic execution, and global market credibility,” said Hwang. “Qunova has established itself as one of the most exciting quantum software companies globally through its breakthrough achievements around Industrial Quantum Advantage. Prior to joining Qunova, he worked in pharmaceutical R&D and business roles at SK Chemicals and LG Chem, where he established strategic partnerships and supported the development and commercialization of innovative drug programs.At Qunova, Mr. Kang will lead business development and strategic collaborations with global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. He will translate high-value drug discovery challenges into commercial opportunities and integrate Qunova’s quantum computing solutions into pharmaceutical R&D workflows to enable better-informed decisions and accelerate the discovery of novel therapeutics. Mr. Kyoung joins Qunova as a Business Development Executive focusing on materials science, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and optimization solutions. He has nearly three decades of experience with the Hyundai Motor Company’s R&D Division, where he served in numerous senior engineering and leadership roles. Most recently, he led Hyundai’s Computational Materials Research Team. Prior to that, he served as a Global R&D Expert in Materials Simulation and as a Senior Research Engineer specializing in FEM and CFD technologies. He will collaborate with new partners to deliver Qunova’s quantum enhanced solutions across the automotive, manufacturing, advanced materials and engineering sectors.
