Two years after the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology finalized its first post-quantum cryptography standards, QoreChain reports processing a transaction on July 2 secured entirely with those algorithms on a live public blockchain. The network launched its mainnet on June 7, 2026, enforcing post-quantum protection at the protocol level with ML-DSA-87, ML-KEM-1024, and SHAKE-256 operating at their highest parameter sets. “Two years ago the question stopped being whether post-quantum cryptography works, and became who would actually ship it,” said Liviu Ionut Epure, Founder and CTO of QoreChain. Trading of its native token, QOR, begins August 20 at 13:00 UTC. QoreChain Launches NIST-Standardized Post-Quantum Cryptography on Layer 1 QoreChain activated post-quantum cryptography on its Layer 1 blockchain on June 7, 2026, a move that demonstrates practical implementation of NIST’s finalized standards. The network employs ML-DSA-87 (Dilithium-5, FIPS 204) for transaction signatures, ML-KEM-1024 (Kyber, FIPS 203) for key encapsulation, and SHAKE-256 (FIPS 202) for hashing, utilizing the highest parameter sets available for each algorithm to maximize security. This implementation enforces post-quantum protection at the protocol level, securing every transaction processed on the network against potential decryption by future quantum computers. On July 2, QoreChain processed a transaction fully secured with these NIST-standardized algorithms on its live, public Layer 1 network, and the transaction’s details are publicly verifiable at explore.qore.network. While many in the blockchain space discuss post-quantum migration as a future goal, QoreChain has integrated a classical co-signature as a compatibility layer, adhering to recommendations from NIST and national cybersecurity agencies. The network’s open-source node implementation and developer tools, including a Rollup Development Kit and application SDKs, are available across multiple package managers like GitHub, npm, and PyPI, enabling rapid integration for developers using JavaScript, Python, Java, Go, and Rust. The company is also releasing QoreX, a non-custodial wallet designed to seamlessly integrate with existing Web3 applications while enforcing mandatory ML-DSA-87 signing. This allows current decentralized applications to function without modification, benefiting from quantum-safe transactions by default. Epure stated, “Our answer isn’t a whitepaper. It’s a block explorer link, a crypto library you can audit, and SDKs you can install this afternoon.” He continued, “‘Harvest now, decrypt later’ doesn’t wait for anyone’s roadmap, so neither did we.” Trading of QoreChain’s native token, QOR, will begin on August 20 at 13:00 UTC, further solidifying the network’s commitment to a quantum-resistant future. Two years ago the question stopped being whether post-quantum cryptography works, and became who would actually ship it.
