The position will focus on one or more of the following areas: (i) Developing algorithms for open quantum systems, including benchmarking and testing. (ii) Quantum simulations of many-body systems: Developing and conducting simulations on classical and quantum devices. (iii) Assessing physical resource costs in quantum hardware and algorithms; exploring fundamental thermodynamical costs associated with information processing The position can be affiliated with either the Department of Chemistry or the Department of Physics at the University of Toronto. Experience: (i) Candidates with a strong background in open quantum systems/quantum many body physics/quantum simulations/ quantum algorithms are invited to apply. (ii) A PhD in quantum physics/ theoretical chemistry/applied math or other relevant field obtained within the last five years is required. Salary: 85 K CAD/year + benefits.
