PhD position in quantum networks at QuTech, TU Delft (Netherlands) Application deadline: Sunday, October 4, 2026Employer web page: https://careers.tudelft.nl/job/Delft-Doctoral-Candidate-%28PhD%29-Position-in-Qu...Job type: PhDWe are looking for a PhD candidate on the topics of quantum networks at QuTech, the quantum technology research center of Delft University of Technology (TU Delft, the Netherlands) as part of the Questing Doctoral Network. PhD Position Topic: Enhancing Entanglement Quality in Quantum Networks The PhD's goal is to expand and evaluate our existing set of tools for improving the quality of entanglement between network nodes. Potential directions are improving techniques for entanglement distillation, potentially through a connection with error correction, and the use of discarding low-quality entanglement (cut-off time). We will use simulation and analytical calculation for doing so. As part of the Doctoral Network collaboration his position includes research stays of few months at University of Naples Federico II (UNINA, Italy) and EURECOM, France. The group This project will be conducted within Tim Coopmans’ research group, which focuses on the design of quantum networks and quantum circuits using techniques from (formal) computer science. All group members, including Tim himself, started recently. We are committed to an inclusive and diverse research environment (for example, Tim is a mentor for WIQD, "We in Quantum Development", formerly "Women in Quantum Development"), and we strongly encourage applications from all backgrounds.
