The collaboration focuses on three primary domain use cases: Derivatives and Options Pricing: Accelerating high-dimensional stochastic pricing models by coupling classical Monte Carlo methods with Quantum Amplitude Estimation (QAE). Portfolio Optimization and Risk Management: Applying quantum and quantum-inspired algorithms to complex, constrained combinatorial optimization problems—including portfolio liquidation, order execution, and real-time risk analysis. Banking and Insurance Machine Learning: Exploring Quantum Machine Learning (QML) and Quantum-Inspired Machine Learning (QIML) models for credit default prediction, real-time transaction fraud detection, and personalized customer product recommendations. Led by ORIENTOM CEO Alfred Bang, the partnership establishes a benchmark methodology to evaluate performance gains across hybrid classical-quantum workflows. Additionally, the organizations plan to jointly pursue research grants—including bilateral Korea-Europe Joint Research Initiatives—and explore extending their quantum optimization algorithms to adjacent industrial domains such as smart grid management and energy systems.
