The PIQC platform pairs organic molecular spin-qubit processing units with photonic integrated circuits (PICs) to resolve the physical scaling limitations of nearest-neighbor quantum architectures. By embedding optical channels directly into the chip layout at inception, the architecture replaces short-range magnetic or capacitive coupling with all-to-all photonic interconnections. This integrated approach allows modular QPU tiles to communicate optically across chip boundaries, establishing an architecture compatible with standard semiconductor and photonic foundry fabrication nodes. Under the four-month QOSMOS project, NVision will establish benchmarking metrics, define hardware-software integration milestones, and map out initial target workloads centered on quantum simulations for chemistry and pharmaceutical research.
