Jij Inc to host Quantum World Congress 2026 startup pitch competition

JIJ Inc. has been selected as a finalist in the Quantum Startup Pitch Competition at Quantum World Congress 2026, placing the Tokyo-based firm among a select group presenting to industry leaders and investors. Steven Gibson, President of the Americas at JIJ, will pitch the company’s approach, applying mathematical optimization, AI, and quantum computing, on September 23, 2026, at The Hotel at the University of Maryland, Quantum World Congress 2026 says. JIJ will also present its work at the Japan Pavilion, organized by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), during the September 23-25 conference. Founded in 2018, JIJ develops and deploys quantum annealing and hybrid algorithms for Japanese businesses, and recently secured $5.2 million in funding led by Global Brain to expand its AI-enabled platform. This expansion reflects a strategic move to broaden applicability beyond strictly optimization tasks, enabling developers to build and test a wider range of quantum solutions. This investment coincides with a strategic partnership established with Kobe Steel on July 2, 2026, to create a multi-year Quantum Center of Excellence focused on integrating quantum computing into materials, production, and process optimization within the KOBELCO Group.
