International Semiconductor Industry Group Launches Quantum Council

ISIG Initiative: Global Quantum Industry Group launched in April 2026 as the semiconductor group’s quantum computing, sensing, and networking council.C-Level Mandate: Membership is limited to one C-level seat per company and is framed around deals, supply chains, and standards.Next Convening: GQIG Quantum Infra Summit EU runs October 1-2, 2026 at imec headquarters in Leuven.Global Quantum Industry Group opened in April 2026 as an initiative of the International Semiconductor Industry Group, applying the ISIG C-level convening model built since 2010 to quantum computing, quantum sensing, and quantum networking. ISIG and GQIG staged the inaugural Quantum Computing Infra Summit on April 23, 2026 at Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale, then scheduled GQIG Quantum Infra Summit EU for October 1-2, 2026 at imec headquarters in Leuven. The council is built to put quantum hardware and software firms in the same room as foundries, equipment suppliers, materials providers, national laboratories, and enterprise buyers.GQIG describes itself as a C-level and Director-only council for quantum computing infrastructure and quantum sensors. Public materials list a member RFQ board covering cryogenics, control electronics, lasers, photonics, and dilution refrigerators, plus a coordinated voice into US, EU, and Singapore export-control and procurement discussions. Those items sit on the manufacturing side of the stack rather than algorithm research.imec co-hosts the October event. Day-one welcome is assigned to Dr. Thomas Piliszczuk, Executive Vice-President and Chief R&D Programs and Portfolio Officer. Day-two program time is assigned to Kristiaan De Greve, Fellow and Program Director of Quantum.Salah Nasri, CEO and co-founder of ISIG, and Amy Leong, GQIG Chair and Diraq Head of Commercialization and Partnerships, delivered the April 23, 2026 welcome in Sunnyvale and are listed for opening remarks in Leuven.ISIG, founded in 2010, already runs regional International Semiconductor Executive Summits across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. GQIG copies the same closed-room format for quantum scale-up problems: CMOS-compatible qubit fabrication, cryogenic packaging, classical control electronics, and quantum-HPC integration.An ISIG TV recap records more than 100 leaders at the Sunnyvale day. GQIG.org lists street addresses in London and Dubai.GQIG markets six member benefits: curated quarterly introductions, the RFQ board, three flagship events, standards and policy coordination, introductions to strategic venture and sovereign capital, and cross-border supplier discovery. A GQIG LinkedIn post in September 2026 advertised 2027 Quantum Infra Summits co-located with ISIG Executive Summits in Silicon Valley on March 18-19, Tokyo on June 10-11, and Europe on September 16-17. Those 2027 dates do not yet appear on the public ISIG home calendar.The format is closer to a semiconductor executive circuit than to a scientific society or to industry consortia such as QED-C or QuIC. Quantum communities tracking foundry access, dilution-refrigerator lead times, control-stack vendors, and export-control wording now have a dedicated ISIG lane into those rooms.
