India’s First Dedicated Quantum and AI University Campus Approved for Amaravati The Andhra Pradesh State government has approved the establishment of India’s first dedicated Quantum and Artificial Intelligence University campus in Amaravati. Chandrababu Naidu, the 8.5-acre permanent campus will feature a specialized 1.25 lakh sq. ft. Quantum Research, Innovation, and Incubation Block (QRIIB). The center will house quantum computing and communication systems, quantum photonics labs, cleanroom nanofabrication infrastructure, cryogenic testbeds, and startup incubation facilities. The academic curriculum aligns with major national deep-tech programs, including the National Quantum Mission, the IndiaAI Mission, and the India Semiconductor Mission: Degree & Research Programs: Offering undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), doctoral (PhD), and executive diplomas. Specialized Disciplines: Courses cover Quantum Computing, Quantum Communication & Security, AI/Machine Learning, Data Science, VLSI, Chip Design, Semiconductor Fabrication, Assembly/Testing/Packaging (ATMP), Embedded Systems, and High-Performance Computing (HPC). Inter-Institutional Network: NIELIT will collaborate with regional academic and engineering hubs, including IIT Tirupati, IIIT Sri City, Andhra University, and JNTU. Phased Launch and Sustainable Campus Design To avoid delay while the permanent campus is built, academic coursework and advanced technical training will begin in September 2026 at a temporary setup within Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur. Once completed, the permanent Amaravati facility will operate as a solar-powered Net Zero campus featuring a 500-bed residential complex, EV charging infrastructure, smart classrooms, and scientific waste management.
