Diraq builds a 20-person quantum team in Los Angeles

Diraq has assembled a 20-person multi-disciplinary team in Santa Monica, California, focused on engineering silicon spin qubits. The new U.S. Technology Hub taps into Southern California’s concentration of quantum talent and positions Diraq alongside leading technology companies. Diraq plans to double the hub’s size within 12 months, creating an engineering strategy that connects its Los Angeles and Sydney headquarters. “Succeeding in quantum computing requires securing the best talent as much as engineering the best technology,” said Andrew Dzurak, Diraq CEO and Founder.

The Los Angeles hub’s personnel span integrated circuit design, software development, device modeling, and machine learning, creating a comprehensive skillset for tackling complex engineering challenges. This growth reflects confidence in the availability of skilled quantum engineers in Southern California and the potential for accelerating development timelines. The hub will function as a key partner to Diraq’s existing center of excellence located in Sydney, Australia, combining strengths and streamlining the progression from research to commercially viable systems. The establishment of the Los Angeles hub supports Diraq’s broader strategy of scaling its silicon spin qubit technology.
