Alice & Bob Partners with CEA to Integrate Cat Qubit Software into HPC Infrastructure Fault-tolerant quantum hardware developer Alice & Bob has entered into a strategic research partnership with the CEA (French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission) to integrate its cat qubit software stack into High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments. Building on the June 2026 unveiling of Alice & Bob’s first physical quantum processing unit, Helium, the initiative aims to establish operational pathways for hybrid supercomputing workflows and develop domain-specific algorithms for early Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing (eFTQC) architectures by 2030. Under the technical collaboration, Alice & Bob’s quantum software stack will be integrated into Eviden’s (an Atos business) Bull Qaptiva™ quantum application platform. Leveraging CEA’s expertise in hybrid HPC-quantum system orchestration, the Qaptiva framework allows developers to compile code across heterogeneous backends—enabling seamless, hardware-agnostic execution across on-premises supercomputers and cloud-hosted quantum processors. Designed to exploit the hardware efficiency of cat qubits—which protect quantum information against bit-flip errors autonomously—the algorithmic pipeline focuses on simulating condensed matter systems to solve complex problems in materials science, chemistry, and industrial physics.
