Microsoft is officially killing its Outlook Lite app next month

Launched in 2022, Outlook Lite is a lightweight version of the regular Outlook app, designed for Android phones with limited storage and regions with slower internet connections. The app had already been scheduled for retirement — Microsoft announced last year that the app would be removed from the Google Play Store in October 2025. Now the company has confirmed that the app will lose functionality for existing users next month. The news was first reported by Neowin. “To continue enjoying a secure and feature-rich email experience, we recommend switching to Outlook Mobile,” Microsoft says in an Outlook Lite support page. Outlook Lite users will be able to access their existing email, calendar items, and attachments by signing into Outlook Mobile.
