Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang urged US-China AI cooperation following Anthropic’s Mythos breakthrough, calling it essential for safe development of advanced artificial intelligence technologies. Huang emphasized dialogue between the two superpowers to establish shared guidelines on AI restrictions, stating both nations must agree on prohibited uses to mitigate risks. Speaking on the Dwarkesh Podcast in April 2026, he framed cooperation as a safety measure, not competition, despite affirming the US should maintain its leadership position. The Mythos advancement underscored the urgency, as rapidly evolving AI capabilities demand unified ethical and security frameworks to prevent misuse or unintended consequences. Huang’s remarks highlight growing industry pressure for international collaboration, even amid geopolitical tensions, to govern AI’s exponential growth responsibly.

Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang said that Anthropic PBC’s Mythos breakthrough shows that the US should seek greater cooperation with China so artificial intelligence researchers in the world’s two largest economies can agree on how to safely use the increasingly powerful technology.“We want the United States to win, but I think having a dialogue and having a research dialogue is probably the safest thing to do,” Huang said in an interview Wednesday on the technology-focused Dwarkesh Podcast. “It is essential that we try to both agree on what not to use the AI for.”
