Kemper Corporation’s interim CEO Carl Evans addressed investors at the 47th Annual Raymond James Institutional Investor Conference on March 3, 2026, outlining the company’s current challenges and strategic direction amid ongoing auto insurance market volatility. The discussion focused on Kemper’s performance in 2025, highlighting persistent industry pressures like rising claim costs and regulatory hurdles, which have impacted profitability over the past five years. Evans emphasized operational adjustments, including underwriting refinements and cost controls, to stabilize financial results, though specifics on long-term growth strategies remained limited during the brief 28-minute session. Analyst Charles Peters framed the talk as a "state of the union," probing Kemper’s regional market responses, particularly in high-risk states, where pricing and risk management have been contentious. The event underscored Kemper’s transitional phase under interim leadership, with no permanent CEO announced, leaving investors watching for clearer signals on recovery and competitive positioning.
