Humacyte’s CEO Laura Niklason presented at a March 2026 healthcare conference, highlighting its engineered tissue platform that creates implantable human tissues without triggering immune rejection, eliminating the need for immunosuppression in over 700 treated patients. The company uses normal human cells to produce functional, scalable tissues from a cell bank, enabling off-the-shelf availability for surgeries like vascular grafts, with no donor matching required. Niklason emphasized recent clinical and commercial progress, noting upcoming milestones in 2026, including expanded trials and potential regulatory submissions for new applications of their bioengineered tissues. The platform’s versatility extends beyond vascular grafts, with plans to address unmet needs in trauma, dialysis, and pediatric surgeries, positioning Humacyte as a leader in regenerative medicine innovation. Analysts and investors showed strong interest in the technology’s scalability and cost-efficiency, with the CFO present to discuss financial strategies supporting commercialization and global expansion.

But I'm going to hand it over to Laura to run through the Humacyte story and get us up to speed on an exciting regenerative medicine technology. Laura, thanks so much for coming again this year. Laura NiklasonFounder, President, CEO & Director Thank you, Josh. Really appreciate the opportunity. I know this is a 30-minute slot. I'm going to try to keep this to 20 or 25 minutes in case there are questions. But there's a lot of really exciting stuff that has happened in the last year and that's upcoming in the next year. I'm really excited to talk about that. So for those who are not familiar with the Humacyte story, this is an engineered tissue platform where we use normal human cells to create functional implantable human tissues at commercial scale. The way that we grow these tissues allows us to produce them so that when they're implanted into a patient, even though they come from a cell bank, they do not require any immunosuppression. In fact, we've treated more than 700 patients during clinical and commercial phases
