freenet AG reported strong 2025 operational performance and customer growth during its Q4 earnings call, though CEO Robin Harries flagged concerns over an unfavorable 2024 network provider agreement. The deal could reduce 2025 earnings by €13 million and slash EBITDA by up to €50 million annually from 2026–2028, prompting urgent renegotiations with the operator. Harries confirmed the financial risks are already factored into current projections, with updates pending as negotiations progress. The company emphasized strategic restructuring to become "leaner and more effective," though specifics on these moves were not detailed in the call. Analysts from UBS, Bernstein, and Citi participated, but the focus remained on mitigating the network agreement’s impact on future profitability.
