eBay CEO Jamie Iannone highlighted a strategic shift since his return six years ago, refocusing the platform on non-new and seasoned goods, which now account for 90% of sales. The company prioritized three core areas: focus categories (35% of GMV), which grew 12% in 2025, driven by customer satisfaction, trust, and targeted marketing strategies. Iannone emphasized a playbook combining vertical-specific marketing with enhanced trust measures to outpace broader business growth in key segments. CFO Peggy Alford joined the discussion, reinforcing eBay’s renewed investor appeal amid operational realignment and category-driven expansion. The 2026 Morgan Stanley conference presentation underscored eBay’s pivot to niche markets, contrasting its earlier broader retail approach.

Question-and-Answer Session Nathaniel FeatherMorgan Stanley, Research Division Now although everyone knows eBay, we've seen a lot of investors come back to the story in the past year or so. Jamie, can you give a high-level compare and contrast of where eBay was when you rejoined the business versus where it's at today? Jamie IannoneCEO, President & Director Yes. Thanks for the question, Nathan. So I came back to eBay about 6 years ago. And when I came back, I really refocused on us back on our roots of non-new and seasoned, which is now 90% of what we sell on the platform and really got us aligned around 3 strategic focus areas. First is focus categories. We've invested in these categories now about 35% of our experience. They're growing faster than the rest of the business. In 2025, they grew 12%. And we really have this playbook of driving leading customer satisfaction, game-changing levels of trust, vertical-specific marketing that's worked really well.
