⚡ Quantum Brief
Shares of Quantum Computing (QUBT) plunged 14.2% this week after announcing a $110 million cash acquisition of Luminar Semiconductor, raising investor concerns over capital allocation amid minimal revenue generation. Wedbush initiated coverage with a neutral rating and a $12 price target, further dampening sentiment as analysts failed to endorse the stock’s growth potential. The acquisition aims to accelerate Quantum Computing’s roadmap by integrating Luminar’s photonic technologies and talent, though investors remain skeptical about its near-term financial impact. Despite the sell-off, the company secured a purchase order from a major U.S. bank for its quantum security solutions in Q3 2025, signaling progress in commercial adoption. Analysts suggest long-term investors monitor Quantum Computing for industry exposure, but caution that better opportunities may exist elsewhere in the tech sector.
