Hello Community What are the application scenarios of Quantum Computing (QC) in autonomous driving? Are there any proof-of-concept (PoC) projects in this domain that demonstrate improved results compared to classical computing approaches? Thanks, Tory submitted by /u/toryxu [link] [comments]

What are the application scenarios of Quantum Computing (QC) in autonomous driving? Are there any proof-of-concept (PoC) projects in this domain that demonstrate improved results compared to classical computing approaches? About as much overlap as between Quantum Tunneling and The Boring Company. QC pays my salary and will hopefully one day allow me to buy an autonomous car. No I don't see these being connected. Driving is responding to video quickly, reliably, and continuously. I don't think that any quantum computing company is focused on that (even if they're working on quantum + ML) None. There is some AI applications, that also apply to autonomous driving. But there is no mobile application of QC. And there won't be until they are pocket phone size. Some potential algorithms for path finding I guess but quantum computers are way too slow to be used for real time applications Tory, there's a crucial thing you seem to have overlooked. There are no quantum computers, and therefore no applications therefore no proofs-of-concept for quantum computation applications, either. You're asking about a dream you saw. Right now, quantum computing is a solution in search of a problem. But it’s not yet a solution to anything. Create your account and connect with a world of communities.
