Hot-Temperature7072 • 4h ago Hello! I’m a master student in math doing research in continuous-time quantum walk, and I would like to get into qc for phd at places like Waterloo. For preparation, apart from research, I’m going to take a quantum theory course in the fall, and I plan to self learn the qc textbook by Nielsen and Chuang in my second year before applying. I’m wondering what else I can do to improve my chance of getting an offer? Thank you for reading this. Impossible-Bread-137 • 8h ago I passed the IBM qiskit quantum developer certification. Recently finish my B.S. in physics and looking for a job. Honestly the job market is shit, talked to a guy who works at an unnamed quantum company in the US. He said that most quantum computing companies are not hiring even though they have the job openings out. GreatNameNotTaken • 5h ago Did he state any reason? Physics student with electronics specialization can make career in quantum hardware? Hello there Background I'm from an M.Sc. Physics + electronics background and want to get into quantum hardware design/engineering. Skills/credentials: I have studied Microprocessors 8085, 8086, Microcontrollers: 8051& PIC 16F877A & Programming languages: C++ , python; I am familiar with Qiskit as well Questions What's the best way to start? What skills/roles should I be looking at? Which topics from electronics engineering will I have to study? What Career paths should I opt for? Any pointers would help. Thanks!l mirchasur • 9h ago Suggest some books for self studying quantum computing concepts dark_blue_thunder • 8h ago Theory Quantum Computation and Quantum Information -- Michael A.
