Visvesaraya Technological University introduces MTech in quantum computing - The Times of India

Visvesaraya Technological University (VTU) has launched a new MTech program in quantum computing, marking a significant expansion of India’s quantum education initiatives. The two-year postgraduate degree aims to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in quantum technologies, covering algorithms, cryptography, and hardware development. Scheduled to begin in the 2026 academic year, the program will be offered at VTU’s Belagavi campus, with plans for hybrid learning options to accommodate working professionals. Industry collaborations with tech firms and research institutions will provide students with hands-on training, internships, and exposure to real-world quantum applications. The move aligns with India’s National Quantum Mission, seeking to build domestic expertise and accelerate advancements in quantum research and commercialization.
