UMass Amherst Demonstrates Technology to Shrink Quantum Computer Size

Researchers at UMass Amherst and UC Santa Barbara have developed laser and ion trap components to significantly reduce the size of quantum computers. This technology aims to move quantum hardware from room-sized systems toward chip-scale integration, similar to the development of microprocessors.
