⚡ Quantum Brief
Rigetti Computing’s CEO predicts quantum computing and AI will dominate 2026, with hybrid systems accelerating progress toward artificial general intelligence (AGI). The company is collaborating with partners like Nvidia to develop these integrated technologies. The CEO emphasizes a long-term focus on quantum advantage (3–5 years) and fault-tolerant quantum computing (7–9 years), dismissing short-term stock volatility. Revenue remains secondary to technological milestones in Rigetti’s current strategy. Despite a 150% stock surge in 2025, Rigetti acknowledges minimal near-term revenue, prioritizing R&D over market reactions. Investors are betting heavily on quantum’s future potential despite current financial modest returns. Hybrid quantum-AI systems could redefine AGI development, per emerging studies. The CEO expects 2026 to mark a turning point as these systems gain traction, though broader market awareness remains limited. Rigetti’s roadmap aligns with industry shifts, positioning quantum-AI convergence as a transformative force. The CEO’s predictions underscore growing synergy between the two fields, with 2026 as a pivotal year for adoption.

Video Transcript 00:00 Speaker A Are you concerned about some of the AI valuations uh that are out there in the market? Palantir selling off, they had a bang-up quarter. but look at what you're doing. Uh you know, you you guys readily point out in your annual report. I mean, you don't have revenues yet and uh you know, you may not have them for a couple more years to any real substantial degree. I mean yet your stock's up over 150% year to date. I mean, do you get get concerned as a CEO of a company like this?00:32 Subot Well, intrinsically you try not to look at stock price when you're making any important decisions. We try to stay focused on the technology and our road map and how we get to quantum advantage and beyond. Um, yeah, obviously it's tempting as any human being to look at a stock ticker and move it up or down. And um, but you try not to overreact to either movements, movements in either direction and try to keep a level-headed approach to what exactly the company needs to do. In our case and in quantum computing in general, clearly the goal is to improve the technology, get to that quantum advantage and then get to the eventual milestone which we call fault tolerant quantum computing. We're talking three to five years to quantum advantage, we're probably talking seven to nine years for fault tolerant quantum computing. So we try to stay focused on the long term. Uh, hopefully the stock continues to do well. Uh we try to be as clear as possible with our investors that we are still sales really don't matter. It's still all about technology development at this time. But it is, people will react and uh it is intrinsically once you're a public company, it is tempting to look at a stock price, but we try not to react to that.01:54 Speaker A Subot, real quick, do you have one big prediction for 2026 in terms of AI that that may surprise people?02:04 Subot I believe there's some uh studies that are already coming out that suggest that a quantum computing plus AI is a much more elegant, faster, better way to get to AGI. And uh as of right now, that's still hasn't been digested uh by most investors. But I think 2026, if I can predict one big thing, it would be quantum computing plus AI will start really making inroads uh with hybrid systems that we are developing with partners like Nvidia and so on. So I think it'll be exciting to see what quantum computing plus AI and how we can get to AGI that way. 02:09 AI could be 'world-altering' & also end in 'financial calamity' Yahoo Finance Video • 6h ago 03:01 Android exec. explains 'vision' for users' Google AI experience Yahoo Finance Video • 19h ago 04:12 CES 2026 biggest takeaways: Nvidia and beyond Yahoo Finance Video • 20h ago 04:29 Micron stock pops on AI-driven demand: Bull vs.
