What he realized during his exploration was that the realm of quantum isn’t just about boosting AI capabilities, but about an entirely new way of approaching problems. Imagine for a moment that every advancement in technology up to this point has been about mastering the art of calculation faster and more efficiently. Now imagine stepping into a realm where it’s not just about speed or efficiency but about transforming the fundamental approach to computing. This is what quantum offers—a leap rather than a step. But let’s not get lost in abstraction. Quantum computing, as game-changing as it is, forms just one part of the spectrum. Quantum communication, sensing, and materials complete the picture, each opening up new horizons. For instance, quantum memory could revolutionize how data is stored and accessed, moving beyond our current understanding and capabilities of computing storage. Yet what’s most thrilling about quantum technologies isn’t solely their potential to reshape industries such as healthcare through improved diagnostics and treatments but their ability to redefine our understanding of possibilities. Traditional computers work with bits – the 1s and 0s we’ve come to know so well. Quantum computers operate with qubits, which exist in multiple states at once, not confined to binary constraints. Sanjay puts this wonderfully when he explains that while traditional computing performs tasks sequentially, quantum computing can manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This isn’t just multitasking; it’s multi-realm processing. Imagine being able to attend and fully participate in multiple meetings at the same time.
