L.A. Mazhorina will present new research on quantum dynamics of atomic systems under external drives in an April 2, 2026 online seminar, focusing on trapped ions and positronium atoms. The talk highlights numerical simulations of trapped ions in Paul traps, analyzing motional mode spectra in optical lattices and global gate fidelity for ion chains—critical for quantum computing advancements. Experimental results include non-Markovianity measurements in single-ion dynamics, offering insights into decoherence and quantum memory—key for error mitigation in quantum processors. Positronium (Ps) atoms are examined via spectroscopic experiments to test quantum electrodynamics (QED), bridging atomic physics and fundamental theory validation. The seminar also explores quantum optical models adaptable to trapped-ion platforms, proposing scalable architectures for hybrid quantum systems.

[QOART online seminar] Quantum dynamics of atomic systems under external drive by L.A. Mazhorina Acronym: QOART - Quantum Optics and Related TopicsDates: Thursday, April 2, 2026Web page: Online seminar on Quantum Optics and Related TopicsRegistration deadline: Wednesday, April 1, 2026Submission deadline: Wednesday, April 1, 2026Dear colleagues, We are pleased to announce the next online seminar on QOART (Quantum optics and related topics)! Title of the talk: Quantum dynamics of atomic systems under external drive Speaker: L.A. Mazhorina Abstract: The first part of the talk is devoted to the materials of the candidate’s dissertation and includes the results of numerical simulations of the quantum dynamics of trapped ions in Paul traps and positronium (Ps) atoms. The dynamics of trapped ions is considered in the context of quantum computing and includes: 1. the calculation of the spectrum of normal motional modes in the presence of an optical lattice, 2. the fidelity of a global gate for a chain of ions, 3. and experimental measurements of quantum dynamics followed by the calculation of a non-Markovianity measure for the case of a single ion. Ps atoms are considered in spectroscopic experiments for tests of quantum electrodynamics (QED). The second part of the talk provides details on different quantum optical models that can be experimentally realized on a trapped-ion platform. Date and time: 2-April-2026 at 3:00pm Moscow time Duration: 30-90 mins Language: The talk will be delivered in English Link to join the seminar: https://mian.ktalk.ru/cyi5u831v1cs?pinCode=6468 QOART Seminar: https://sites.google.com/view/qoart/seminar Best regards, Ranjit +7 909 680 67 87 https://www.mathnet.ru/eng/person86793 QOART Telegram Channel: https://t.me/+i6rnhM_Wp1YwY2Ji Optical ‘Cat-like’ State: https://www.mathnet.ru/eng/present47506 QOART 2026 Conference: https://sites.google.com/view/qoart/2026 QOART Seminar: https://sites.google.com/view/qoart/seminar Log in or register to post comments
