The EU-funded QCDC project established Europe’s first cloud-based trapped-ion quantum computing service, strengthening technological sovereignty and enabling independent research access. Researchers have advanced next-generation technologies for biochemical research and materials science thanks to an EU-funded initiative that has granted unprecedented access to cutting-edge cloud-based quantum computers. The collaboration took place between AQT and a team from QC Ware (USA), Covestro (Germany), and Boehringer Ingelheim (Germany), who all worked together to simulate the interaction energies of intermediate states in a chemical reaction. Complex tasks can be challenging for traditional computing, or even supercomputers, will eventually be made possible with quantum machines developed and operated by AQT.
