From Warsaw to San Francisco: Connecting Women Shaping the Quantum Future - The Quantum Insider

In June, Warsaw became the center of Europe’s quantum momentum.

The Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit, the continent’s largest event for women in science and technology, launched its first-ever Quantum Path, a full-day program dedicated to quantum science, policy, and commercialization. It was a symbolic milestone, one that represented Europe’s growing capacity to define its own quantum future, and to do so inclusively. At the helm of this effort is Dr. Bianka Siwińska, CEO of the Perspektywy Education Foundation, whose organization has built one of the world’s most influential platforms for women in STEM. This year’s Summit featured leading voices from CERN, IBM, and the Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs, and for the first time brought a full-scale model of IBM’s Quantum System Two to Central Europe. The program explored quantum’s trajectory from theory to application, covering cryptography, hardware scalability, education, and national strategy, all while highlighting the interdisciplinary talent shaping the field. Panels such as “Applications of Quantum Technologies – Bridging Science, Policy, and Business”, moderated by The Quantum Insider’s Cierra Choucair, brought together Dr. Anna Topol (IBM), Dr. Kathrin Spendier (XPRIZE Foundation), Dr. Sofia Vallecorsa (CERN), Dr. Bianka Siwińska (Perspektywy Education Foundation), and Dariusz Standerski (Ministry of Digital Affairs of Poland). The discussion spoke to a recurring theme: the future of quantum development will depend as much on collaboration and equity as on hardware or algorithms. Together, these sessions demonstrated the Summit’s central message, that quantum innovation is becoming a shared enterprise spanning science, policy, and education. That same vision now extends to the global stage. On October 28, 2025, during TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, Perspektywy Women in Tech and The Quantum Insider will co-host “Let’s Entangle Over Wine: An Evening of Women in Quantum Technologies” aboard The Historic Klamath at Pier 9. The event will bring together women across academia, startups, and industry for an evening of talks and informal networking. It’s designed for both those deeply embedded in quantum and newcomers drawn by curiosity, a space to exchange ideas, share experiences, and discuss how inclusion can drive innovation. The gathering is designed to encourage awareness, education, and connection by creating an accessible entry point for those curious about quantum technologies and a shared space for women already shaping the field. Through short talks and open discussion, participants will explore where the field stands today, the barriers that remain, and how diverse perspectives can influence its direction. Rather than replicating the scale of Warsaw, this event extends its spirit, that of using conversation and community as tools to make quantum more approachable, inclusive, and visible. As the technology moves from theory toward real-world impact, building an informed and connected community remains as important as the science itself.

The Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit will return to Warsaw on June 10–11, 2026, with an expanded quantum presence. Building on the success of this year’s Quantum Path, the next edition will further explore how Europe participates in quantum through education, research, and international collaboration.
