⚡ Quantum Brief
Jim Cramer endorsed IBM as the leading near-term quantum computing investment, calling it the "safer way" to gain exposure. He highlighted IBM’s commercial quantum systems as already operational and generating revenue, contrasting with speculative competitors. Cramer identified only IBM and Google as having viable quantum technologies today, dismissing others as years away from practical applications. IBM’s eight operational quantum machines position it ahead of rivals like D-Wave and Rigetti. IBM’s quantum solutions are expected to deliver tangible results within 1-2 years, reducing power demands significantly. Cramer noted NVIDIA’s GPU role in quantum infrastructure, emphasizing hybrid classical-quantum systems. While acknowledging IBM’s potential, the article suggests AI stocks may offer higher upside with lower risk. It frames IBM as a conservative quantum play amid broader tech investment options. The analysis reflects November 2025 market sentiment, where IBM’s quantum progress stands out amid skepticism about long-term speculative quantum ventures.

Cramer Suggests International Business Machines “If You Crave Quantum Computing” Syeda Seirut Javed Fri, November 14, 2025 at 9:43 PM GMT+5:30 2 min read StockStory Top Pick GOOGL -0.78% IBM +0.27% International Business Machines Corporation (NYSE:IBM) is one of the stocks Jim Cramer mentioned in his latest comments. Cramer highlighted the company as a quantum computing play, as he commented: “So if you crave quantum computing in your portfolio, IBM’s got commercial quantum that’s selling really well… much safer way to go.” Photo by Anton Maksimov juvnsky on Unsplash International Business Machines Corporation (NYSE:IBM) provides technology solutions, including hybrid cloud, AI, consulting, and infrastructure services. Cramer discussed the company’s quantum computing solutions during the November 5 episode and said: “Okay, first, I think there are only two quantums right now that are, that are actually real. One is IBM and the other is Google. There’s a lot of others. We’ve had D-Wave on… You know, actually, I’m not saying that they’re all jokes like Rigetti is a joke.. It’s not like that. I do feel that what’s happened is that there are a lot of speculative stocks about quantum that are 7, 8, 10 years away. IBM’s got something that’s going to work in the next year or two. It should impact all the power that, we won’t need nearly as much power with quantum. But as Jensen Huang told me multiple times, he’ll be in there too. You can’t run the quantum without the GPUs, so you can run them side by side. IBM is the inexpensive way. They do have eight machines that are currently working in quantum. That’s the way to play it. Nothing else right now, okay? Nothing else.” While we acknowledge the potential of IBM as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk.
