BTQ Technologies Acquires QPerfect to Integrate Neutral Atom Computing and Post-Quantum Cryptography

BTQ Technologies Corp. (Nasdaq: BTQ) has exercised its option to acquire 100% of QPerfect SA, a Strasbourg-based company specializing in neutral atom quantum computing software and control solutions. This acquisition transforms BTQ from a post-quantum security provider into a vertically integrated quantum technology company, uniting its cryptographic expertise with quantum control and emulation. The acquisition enhances BTQ’s full-stack capabilities by integrating two core software platforms: MIMIQ, an emulation platform for high-speed, large-scale quantum program testing; and the Quantum Logical Unit (QLU), which provides the control layers needed to scale neutral atom systems. MIMIQ is already used by leading quantum groups and has been validated through peer-reviewed publications with hardware partners like QuEra and Quantinuum. The combined entity will anchor its European R&D hub in Strasbourg and pursue a strategic roadmap focused on Fault-Tolerant Application Scale Quantum (FASQ) systems. Early milestones include demonstrating the QLU prototype on local neutral atom hardware and developing a blueprint for quantum one-shot signatures, a post-quantum cryptographic primitive designed for scalable quantum architectures. The patents and software records of QPerfect will remain registered in France, aligning with European governance requirements. Dr. Gavin K. Brennen, Chief Quantum Officer at BTQ, and Prof. Shannon Whitlock, QPerfect co-founder and a neutral atom quantum computing expert, will lead the integrated platform.
