Alice & Bob Joins TERATEC to Advance Quantum-HPC Integration in Europe Alice & Bob, a French-based quantum computing company specializing in fault-tolerant systems using cat qubits, has announced a strategic partnership with TERATEC, a leading French initiative for high-performance computing (HPC) and simulation. As a new member, Alice & Bob joins over 80 industrial companies, research centers, and academic institutions—including Airbus, AMD, Thales, and L’Oréal—working in the strategic areas of simulation, HPC, AI, and early Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing (eFTQC). The partnership underscores the growing imperative for the HPC and quantum communities to collaborate on integration planning. Alice & Bob will contribute its expertise in integrating quantum hardware and its full software stack with existing HPC infrastructure. The goal is to develop best practices for hybrid quantum-classical workflows and advance the adoption of quantum technology within the traditional computing ecosystem. This is critical as data centers begin deploying Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) and require new software and co-design efforts to efficiently integrate these systems. Emmanuelle Vergnaud, Head of Quantum at TERATEC, stated that Alice & Bob’s depth of expertise in adding quantum hardware to HPC environments will be crucial for the organization’s continued advancements across a range of research areas. Rémi de La Vieuville, Head of Quantum HPC at Alice & Bob, emphasized the value in learning from the HPC community’s long history of engineering excellence. This collaboration builds on Alice & Bob’s previous work in HPC integration, including partnerships with organizations like NVIDIA and the STFC Hartree Centre to make its technology compatible with the SLURM workload management system.
