⚡ Quantum Brief
Wheat futures rebounded Thursday morning after sharp declines Wednesday, with gains of 5 to 9 cents across Chicago, Kansas City, and Minneapolis markets following heavy sell-offs. Geopolitical tensions spiked after a presidential address warned of prolonged strikes and potential Strait of Hormuz disruptions, sending crude oil up $9.50 overnight, indirectly supporting grain markets. Thursday marks the final trading day before Good Friday’s market closure, with traders awaiting export sales data—expecting 200,000–500,000 MT for old-crop wheat and 100,000–300,000 MT for new-crop contracts. Weather forecasts show heavy rains in Soft Red Winter wheat regions and eastern Southern Plains, while western areas face drier conditions, potentially impacting crop outlooks. Chicago SRW May contracts rose 8.5 cents to $6.06 after closing at $5.97 Wednesday, while Kansas City HRW and Minneapolis spring wheat also posted modest gains.
